How much does a solar system cost in Cyprus?
A straight answer to the question everyone asks first. What drives the price of a solar and battery system in Cyprus, and how to compare quotes without getting misled.

It is the first question almost everyone asks, and the honest answer is that there is no single price, because a solar system is not one product. It is a designed solution whose cost depends on size, components, your roof, your electrical connection and whether you add battery storage. What we can do is explain exactly what you are paying for, so you can read any quote, including ours, with clear eyes.
What actually drives the price
- System size. More panels and a larger inverter cost more, but under Net Billing bigger is not automatically better. The right size is set by your consumption, not your roof area.
- Battery storage. A battery is often the largest single line item. It also delivers much of the value under Net Billing, so it is an investment rather than an add-on. The capacity in kilowatt-hours, and the cell quality inside, drive its cost.
- Inverter type. A simple grid-tied inverter costs less than a hybrid inverter designed for battery and backup. The right choice depends on whether storage and backup are in your plan now or later.
- Roof and mounting. A simple flat roof with ballasted mounting differs from a tiled roof needing careful fixings, or a site requiring corrosion-resistant hardware near the sea.
- Electrical work. Switchboard upgrades, cabling runs and protection devices vary by property and are part of an honest quote.
Why the cheapest quote is rarely the best value
It is easy to make a quote look cheap: undersize the cabling, specify unnamed battery cells, skip the switchboard work, or quote a system too small to matter. The price on the front page means little without knowing what sits behind it. A fair comparison puts every quote on the same assumptions and checks what is included: paperwork, electrical upgrades, monitoring and after-sales support. The cheapest installation becomes expensive the first time something fails and nobody answers the phone.
How we quote
We start from your actual EAC bills, size the system to your real consumption, and itemise every component including the battery cell manufacturer. You see what you are paying for and why. If a smaller, less expensive system serves you better, that is what we will recommend, because our goal is the right system for your home, not the biggest invoice.
A note on grants and incentives
Support schemes for solar and storage in Cyprus change over time and are set by the authorities, not by installers. Whether a grant applies to your project, and under what conditions, is something we check against the current rules at the time of your assessment rather than promising in advance. We would rather tell you what is genuinely available today than quote an incentive that has closed.
Financing the investment
A solar system is an upfront investment that pays back over years through lower bills. Some homeowners pay outright; others use financing so the monthly cost is offset by the saving on their electricity bill. We can talk through the trade-offs honestly, but we are engineers, not financial advisors, so for borrowing decisions we recommend speaking with your bank.
