Net Billing in Cyprus: what it means for your electricity bill
Under Net Billing, exported solar energy is credited at a much lower rate than imported electricity costs. Here is why self-consumption now defines whether solar pays off.
Read article →Your local, engineering-led solar team. Based in Paphos, working across the district every week.
Paphos is where we are based and where we do most of our work. That local presence matters more than it sounds.
We know the district's roofs, from the dense town centre to the coastal developments and the hillside villages, and we understand the conditions that affect a system here:
Being local also means we are nearby for the parts that matter after the sale: the assessment visit, the installation, and the maintenance and support that follow. When you call, you reach a team that can actually come to your property, not a national call centre.
Every system we install in Paphos starts the same way, with a free assessment based on your real EAC bills, and is sized for your home rather than to a sales target.
We install throughout the Paphos district, including Paphos town, Peyia, Tala, Emba, Kissonerga, Chloraka, Geroskipou, Konia and the surrounding villages. Wherever you are in the district, we can visit, assess and install.
Part of being a local engineering team is recognising that a roof in Coral Bay and a roof in a hillside village are not the same job. The district has three broad settings, and each one changes how we design the system.
Near the coast (Kato Paphos, Coral Bay, parts of Peyia and Kissonerga): salt-laden air is the main consideration. We specify corrosion-resistant mounting and pay close attention to fixings and cable management, so the system holds up over its full life by the sea.
On higher ground and in the villages (Tala, Tsada, Polemi and similar): orientation and any shading from terrain or trees matter most, and cooler temperatures at altitude can actually help panel output. Here the design is about placing and angling the array to make the most of the position.
In the town and denser areas (Pano Paphos, Geroskipou, Chloraka): usable roof space and shading from neighbouring buildings are the limiting factors. The work is in fitting an effective system into the space available and planning around the shadows that fall across it during the day.
CYMECH Energy Solutions is based in Paphos and installs solar panel and battery systems across Paphos town, Peyia, Tala, Emba, Kissonerga, Chloraka, Geroskipou, Konia and the surrounding villages. Every system is designed based on real EAC bills, roof type, available space, phase connection, self-consumption profile and future battery or backup needs.
